This last week's progress

I've done 6.5 miles and some 3.5 mile runs and I'm hoping to get to where I can do 7+ miles every time but my problem has been a Time issue. I don't have every evening free and that's when I like to go running, so I become limited especially when we end of doing family get together's. I'm thinking I may have to start waking up early to go running, but since Rick works early that would require me waking up even earlier and I hate waking up that early. Only because getting my kids to bed at a decent time at night is hard enough as it is. So, I'm working on some adjusting here and there to make it work.
Overall though, I was thinking about this whole process, the training for this race and all the time and effort that goes into it-- I've learned So much. About myself and about my body. You know, I've gained weight for the first time in like 6 years (aside from pregnancies). I feel healthier, I've been forced to be more organized. I've been humbled in a lot of ways and continue to be. This has been a great experience for me so far and if I were to just take away from this; the things that I've learned in preparing for it...I'd be okay with that.

Shay, you are amazing. Don't doubt yourself as a runner. Getting old happens, injuries happen, yucky days happen. Running is supposed to hurt. It's supposed to test your limits. That's why running makes you a better/stronger person.
You are obviously competitive, otherwise you would be satisfied with the occasional jog that doesn't improve your time. I love that about you. Uber competitive! Don't be disheartened, you have your whole life to run. ...wait does that sound inspirational or depressing? ;)
Love you!
